I can't WAIT to get back into my kitchen and do some cooking! The pie pumpkin is roasting as I type, and the "guts" are waiting to be picked through so I can roast the seeds. :) Yum. First, I have to find my kitchen underneath the mountain of dirty dishes, though. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll tackle those.

I'm pretty proud of myself this shopping trip, too -- over 55% of my purchases were local! WOO!

Great shopping! I get my second ever CSA box on Saturday morning and am looking forward to opening it up.

As for your question about the muffins, sure, you can use regular white sugar. If you like your muffins sweeter, definitely add a glaze on top.

What a great haul - and I love how much of it is local. You are going to have lots of yummies to work with. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

That is so awesome that so much of your groceries are local! I have started buying all of my fruits, veg and bread locally...but I'd like to do more.

That's an terrific haul! I love it when I come home from grocery shopping and start thinking about what I'm going to make with the food I bought. Gets my blood pumping. Is that weird? The photos from your trip to Duluth were awesome! Question though....1 roll of TP lasts you a week??

Carrie, that's really funny. :) Actually, I bet I go through about five rolls a month -- most weeks I buy one roll, occasionally, I buy two rolls. (Since I walk to the store, I'd rather buy a roll here and there, than have to lug a huge package home! Plus, the single rolls are wrapped in paper -- the multipacks are wrapped in plastic! Bah.)

That's the most amazing, healthy load of groceries I've ever seen...so jealous! :D

Hi there,
Love the haul! Can you please describe your cloth produce bags? Did you make them? If so, what's the fabric. If you bought them- where?

Thanks!

Braelin, my cloth produce bags are from www.ecobags.com -- I LOVE THEM! They are easy to wash if they get gunky or stale-smelling, and my co-op is happy to tare their weight for me. I can't begin to think how many plastic bags I've saved since I've purchased them!
