I'm sort of being forced to change my email address!! Bah. I had been using .mac, and they are upgrading, and my ancient (but still very much working) computer and operating system can't support the software needed to run the new program. Since I can't afford a new computer, (and don't really need one,) I'm changing email addresses . . . which stinks! (I have had the old address for over five years! Ack!)
Check my profile if you need/want the new address. Thanks!
P.S. Farmer's Market this morning -- wee! Be back with a food-related post later, I promise. :)

green website
Courtney hooked me up with the greatest website today: Catalog Choice! The free service provides people who sign up the opportunity to "opt out" of hundreds of catalog mailings! I just went through all of the catalogs they have in their database, and reduced my junk mail significantly!
Go check it out, if you're sick of your mailbox being stuffed full of catalogs.

I made a label cloud! (plus some food, too.)
I'm so proud of myself -- I used this link and made myself a label cloud! Woo! (I've been working on labelling previous posts, and was envious of the label clouds I've seen on other people's blogs.) It's kind of fun, looking over past posts and seeing how my blog has changed over the years, and all the silly things I've written about. It's been pretty time-consuming, since I have over 500 posts to back-label, but I've been working on it in fits and spurts, here and there, and the labels are coming together nicely. Wee!
And some food . . .
Dinner the other night:

Lentil soup (from the freezer,) half a grilled-cheese sandwich, some leftover steamed broccoli, and a Reed's ginger ale! Yum.
Dinner last night:

Yes, more sushi. :) I experimented with including some toasted sesame seeds this time, per a fellow blogger's urging, and also some pickled radish that was given to me as a gift by a former co-worker, plus my usual cucumber, red pepper, and avocado. Yum, yum, extra-yum!
And, I've realized Oliver hasn't made an apperance here lately:

He's still as sassy as ever, kickin' butt, more energetic than he's ever been, and thanks to the diet the vet encouraged me to put him on, he's quite svelte, too. Hooray, Ollie!

keyboards rock.
I have a new keyboard with a functioning spacebar!
Keyboards rock. (And my property tax return rocks, too!)
Will be posting more sometime soon, but right now, I have to go do the dishes, so I can finish making bread. Why did I think that making bread at midnight was a good idea? Sheesh. ;-)

THANK YOU JODY!
Thanks to Jody's suggestion, I downloaded Firefox, which looks the same and works better than Safari, and now I can post again! Hooray!
Back to printing out cover letters. I'm going to need to go buy more stamps today.

I don't heart Beta
I updated to Blogger Beta, and am very, very frustrated now . . . my web browser's old enough, the Beta html buttons do not work. (Translation: I cannot post to my blog from my home computer until I upgrade my browser . . . to the tune of $126!) Expect posts to be few and far between, at least until I get a job and can afford the newest version of OS!
Here's a picture of what I had for dinner last night:

Sloppy lentils, acorn squash, and sauteed kale. To quote Chelsea, "probably more vitamins than most people eat in a week!" :)

question answered
Well, it seems as though I was able to answer my earlier question with a little more digging. Blogger is only letting a few people upgrade to Beta at a time, and when it's my turn to upgrade, a link will appear in my dashboard. Sheesh.
So, those of you that have upgraded, know that I'd like to be leaving you comments right now, but I can't! Ack.

help please!
How in the world do I upgrade to Blogger Beta? Those of you that have, I can't leave you comments any more! Sheesh. I wonder whether that's a fault of Safari, or because I haven't upgraded? Puzzling. Any advice/tips/suggestions are more than welcome.

Miscellaney
~ My cat has had one stupid moment after another these past couple of days. Last night, he choked himself on the trash can in my bedroom, over and over again, trying to reach something inside. I had to get up at 4 in the morning and dump the contents into the "big trash" in the kitchen, so he'd give up and I could go back to sleep. Then the other day, he burned his tail on the stove -- that was smelly. He also landed on his HEAD while jumping for a toy last night. I must have added stupid pills to his food or something! Maybe the heat is starting to get to him.
~ I am in mega cookbook testing/writing mode right now, (I want to go with the momentum created by my workshop last weekend,) so if I don't get around to your blog as often as I usually do, know that that's why! I may also post less frequently.
~ I took away my email link for a while, because I've been getting weird emails lately. (LOTS of junk, and I pay for my email address -- that shouldn't happen!) If you need to email me, let me know and I'll stick it back on there for a day or two!)
~ I am going to start forcing myself to do yoga EVERY DAY to help with my sore back. Start harassing me. Please. I need lots of people checking up on me until I can make this a habit!
~ I have a recipe for "Chickpea Pot Pie" (uses filo dough -- not a pastry!) that is ready for a tester if anyone is interested! It makes four servings, however -- do you think I should trim it down farther? Or I could change how the "pie" is constructed and make it into little individual-serving "pockets," which could be frozen and saved for later? I'm leaning towards the second option . . . !! (P.S., this recipe is easily veganized.)
~ I had THE BEST pasta (vegan!) at the Good Earth restaurant this past weekend, (it was called "Tuscan Spa Pasta,") and I hope to post a review on Veggin' Out sometime this week. Watch for it!
~ I went to the store "Storables" last weekend, and I finally bought my hip granny shopping cart! I can't wait to try it out -- I might use it later this week to haul a load of laundry to and from work! I also picked up several other odds and ends. I am in love with that store. If Storables and Kitchen Window hooked up, my ultimate shopping experience would be born. (I like to be organized. I'm a nerd. When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do was reorganize my desk. Sheesh.) Kai, thanks for the heads up on the location of granny shopping carts!
