meal of note, purchase of note

Lunch Saturday:
According to Dan, this is the best dal I've made yet, (with spinach and tomato,) scooped up with homemade chappati. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

(Dan used to live in Bangladesh, so he knows his dal. And he misses it dearly.)

Saturday night purchase:
I AM SO EXCITED TO START BAKING FROM ARTISAN BREAD IN FIVE MINUTES A DAY! Lucky me, I hadn't spent my Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa yet. Can't wait to take the dough sitting in my fridge and my new baking stone for a test-drive!

Although I'm a little sad to return to work tomorrow, I did thoroughly enjoy my five-day weekend! Back to the grind . . . but only for a few days. :) Love those paid holidays, don't you??

Can't wait to see what you bake from that book. I'm wanting my own copy.

I believe Dan - that dal and chapati look wonderful!

I'm so happy I've planned a trip to the bookstore tomorrow. The bread book is one I asked for but Santa didn't bring. I'm lucky to not return to the office until Wednesday!

I just made homemade dal for the first time yesterday, and loved it! Yours looks great, too. Enjoy the bread baking!

I am ALL FOR the paid days off from work. I was bummed to have to come in this morning, but then I got to thinking, "Well, it's just three days, then you get another four day weekend, that isn't too shabby at all." Now, NEXT week will really suck because we don't have that vacation to look forward to.

Wahoo about the gifts! I can't wait to see what kind of artisan breads you make!

That dal looks fabulous! What recipe did you use?

A new baking stone--what a treat! I hope your bread turns out well. I am sure it will!
