Because today's my birthday, I thought I'd sing you a little song! Unfortunately, since I don't know how to upload audio, you'll have to imagine my voice. But here are the lyrics:
"Happy birthday to me,
I don't watch much TV!
I'm writing a cookbook,
And have a cat named Ollie!"

PS David Sedaris is SO funny! I have "Me talk Pretty One Day" on CD and it is 10 times funnier when he reads it! You should try some of his other books when you go to the library. The new library is amazing, by the way!
Happy Birthday Catherine! I see you already changed your subtitle!
bonne fete!!!!
Happy birthday in spanish:

Happy Birthday Catherine, you are talented in the singing/lyric dept as well as cooking?!!
That is very cute! Have a fabuloso birthday and lots of cake!! :)
Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone! It was a very happy birthday, albeit low-key. (I've been feeling sort of rotten for about a week now -- I think it's allergies . . . bah!) Leftover Holy Land Deli for dinner, and a Tofutti Cutie for my bday treat! (Plus, the kids and I had waffles with bananas, blueberries, and pecans for lunch . . . YUM.) Looking forward to a portabella mushroom sandwich, some cider, and some lawn bowling this weekend with friends at Brit's in downtown Minneapolis!
happy birthday! your weekend bd celebration plan sounds like a blast.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Hope you have a great year ahead. Thanks for all of your great posts here; I really enjoy your blog.
:o)
Happy birthday to you!!!
I've been searching for your e'dress. I ate the banana oatmeal and really liked it. It kept me going from 7 am to 11:30. I was starving by lunchtime when I took the muffins for breakfast. I made the banana oatmeal with soymilk, maple syrup and a sprinkle of pecans. Normally I am not a banana fan, but I bought some just for this dish. The pecans and maple syrup took it over the top. I would not call it banana "bread", but something with more pizazz like Bodacious Banana Oatmeal ...
here's a link to the meaning of bodacious http://www.worldwidewords.org/weirdwords/ww-bod2.htm
I haven't made your apple oat dish yet, but I have put chopped apples in my oats many times. I saw that Vicki has been trying out a few of your recipes... peanut butter with apple dip sounds good too.
On no "POO" .... I laughed too.
Happy Birthday again!
Hey Dori! Thanks for the banana oatmeal update. Given that you don't care much for bananas, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love hot cereal for its "filling" factor -- I'm stuffed for hours after eating a bowlful!
I like your proposed title for the recipe! I'll have to use that, with your permission. :)
There's a link to my email on my profile page!
Oh, POO, I missed your birthday! Love your little birthday ditty. My favorite BD song, which I would sing for you if I could, goes like this:
Have a happy birthday,
we really hope you do.
We're glad that it's your birthday
so we can party too!
Happy belated birthday Catherine! Mine is today. Seems like there are a lot of veghead geminis around this group.
Sorry to hear the cat woke you up like that today. That is last thing anyone wants to hear when they get up!
